goodnight sweetheart
...really love the 1940's era styling of the latest Sonia Rykiel Resort Collection.
The Art Deco geometric shape detailing is fab, and the braces, belts, blouses, pussy cat bow dresses and high waisted pant suits are all on my "In your dreams, Mrs" list.
The autumn colour palette is beautiful; in keeping with my current (lack of) British summer mood... I'm almost ready to get the woolly tights out.
Please sir, can I have some more?

they call me mellow yellow
i made a cute sailor dress this weekend using a striped ecru / yellow cotton jersey that has been sitting on my shelf for a while. i didn't have a pattern to work from - but i wish i had the one above for the playsuit!
i had an idea of the shape i wanted, so created a pretty basic paper pattern using newspaper.
i wanted to make the most of the stripes and create a chevron pattern on the front skirt, but i only had just over a metre of jersey so it was abit of a squeeze - its a real hotchpotch but turned out sweet!
i ended up with a simple pull on sleeveless jersey frock, with a crisp sailor-style collar made from a yellow dotty vintage cotton. phew.
i dont think it is totally finished as i'm thinking of adding some topstitching to the collar, and maybe a little bow or some buttons...
