skirt making with the cat

I bought some lovely lightweight denim last week with the intention of making a cute 1970's style A-line skirt with little buttoned patch pockets. A trawl through my old pattern box resulted in success; I had an 11-12 year old (modern size 8) skirt pattern - really easy, only 3 pieces. I hate these sort of patterns usually - they never seem to fit, and always seem so over-complicated and time consuming, but this looked easy enough to tweak..So, this is my first sewing project blog post.!

I had a vision of a 1970's inspired high waisted skirt that would work with soft, white girly blouses, vintage cotton camisoles and hopefully the (impractical) tan chanel-style clogs I hope to be (stylishly) crippled by one day.

Anyway..here is my skirt making in pictures with the occasional help of jasper the cat, who it turns out loves paper patterns much more than I do, tearing them to shreds the moment they are pinned down...P.S the skirt was a sucess ;)
